“LE VERGINI DI SALEM” SUCCESS FOR HIGGINS
Camerino
- Sydney Higgins has now triumphed with a classic play. After two
musicals, "Goodbye Berlin" and "Cabaret", presented by the Camerino
Players, the British director has successfully brought to the Teatro
Marchetti "Le Vergini di Salem." The tragedy, based on "The Crucible"
by Arthur Miller, has been reworked by Higgins. Due in part to
Higgins’s passion for the theatre and, in the English style, his true
sense of public service, this success was also the result of the total
commitment of all the actors and those who worked behind the scenes.
Again
there was confirmation of the talent already shown in musicals by the
actors Nicola Mandalis, Annabel Miller, Laura Gariboldi and notably
Sabrina Conocchioli, in the role of Elizabeth Proctor; at her side, as
her husband, John Proctor, who is a new discovery to remember, Fausto

“CAMERINO PLAYERS”: A HIT
The
theatrical season has reached its penultimate show, presented by the
local group of Camerino Players, that has proved worthy of its
selection. We should give credit to the director Sydney Higgins for his
courageous choice, the work of Arthur Miller "The Crucible", presented
in Italian with the title "Le Vergini di Salem." The result was
extraordinary. Set in the seventeenth-century American with a mystic,
bleak atmosphere evoked by the changing scenery of very functional but
beautiful framed panels. In the final, moving scene, where the
individual characteristics of the six principal characters are
highlighted, struggling with their own dramas, we see a strong approach
that is "Shakespearean" in style.
